Obituary

Dr. Eugene Fedorenko passed away at his home on August 1, 2017 after a brief but brave battle with cancer. He was 88 years old. He will be deeply missed by so many.
Dr. Fedorenko was born in Ukraine in 1929. Following World War II, he attended Louvain University in Belgium, where he graduated in 1955 with a master of arts in political science. Later he studied at Fordham University and New York University before ultimately receiving his Ph. D. from the Ukrainian Free University in Munich, Germany. Dr. Fedorenko dedicated his life to preserving the Ukrainian language, literature and heritage in both North America and in Ukraine. He was especially active within the Educational Council of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, which he led for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Aida; His children: Oksana, William and Taras; Loving daughters-in-law June and Catie; Grandchildren: Travis, Tabytha (husband Michael) and Tyler; and a new born great-granddaughter Aubrey.
